Ludwig Von Drake

One of my favorite characters is Ludwig Von Drake. It was designed by Milt Kahl, who also animated quite a lot of his scenes.
This is a pencil test of a small scene that I animated for my friend Bert Klein for one job that he produced for Disney. The scene was divided in two and I did the first part and the second part was done by my good friend James Lopez. This is the first part of the whole piece.
It was something for one of the Disney's theme parks.

Milt Kahl Day 5

I love this design and the animation is also superb.

Feature project

I have been developing an animated feature film that I want to eventually produce here in Brazil and am trying to have the whole thing storyboarded and on reels with temp sound and dialogue. I know it's crazy but nothing is impossible and with some luck I might be able to get investors interested in it. The film is based on a Brazilian folk tale but it will have universal appeal and will be understood by anyone in any country.
Here are some panels of the storyboards from a couple of sequences. Just a teaser.

Brother Bear

When I moved to Disney's Orlando studios I was supposed to help out with the animation of the main bear. I had only to finish my last scenes in Home on the Range and then start on that but, like all the productions at that time, Home on the Range had more story changes and I ended up staying on it longer than I anticipated and the two projects finished animation at the same time, leaving me without having a chance to work on that beautiful film.
Here are a couple of rough studies I did to practice drawing the bear.

Sometime ago, a little depressed with an assignment, I started a comic book just to try to be a little creative. I never completed it but here is some of what was done.

Milt Kahl Day

Another Medusa, but this thime it's a drawing that Milt did for some lucky fellow named Dave.
This is a copy I got from someone and I think the original belongs to Andreas Deja.

Don Quixote

If there's a project that should be made in animation ( the right way) is Don Quixote. At one time the talented directors Paul and Gaetan Brizzi were developing a version of it at Disney. I did not see much but the little I did was enough to excite me.
I know that even Pablo Picasso was thinking about making an animated version of Don Quixote.
I did these drawings as suggestions for Paul and Gaetan when they were working at Disney.
