Milt Kahl Day


These are from two different films but were done not too many years apart.  The first is Roger from 101 Dalmatians and the other is the Black knight from Sword in the Stone.  You can see the similarities in style.  Milt was already drawing differently, being influenced by Picasso, Ronald Searle and others.

  1. I'm really enjoying seeing Milt's drawings. He is one of my favorite animators along with Fred Moore and Glen Keane.

  2. Never a hint of cliche in any of his poses, and these are such beautiful and complex poses that reveal so much about the characters. Two very different personalities. Thanks for the post.
