Milt Kahl Day

Again, another powerful drawing by Milt.  This particular drawing is just full of great things to study. Composition, staging, silhouette, design, appeal, you name it, it's there.

  3. I have been looking for this for a long time! In your about me section you put that you were hired as an inbetweener at the age of 15! I'm 15 and I am wondering what I should be studying and focusing on to get into CalArts. I want to be an animator at Walt Disney. Do you have any advice?

My advice to you would be, besides drawing and sketching and doing personal animation tests everyday, to try to get a job at a small studio as an assistant or something like that and work your way up.
If you can afford Cal Arts, great, but you will still need to do your home work by studying animation and drawing and make tests on your own.
To get into Call Arts you will need a portfolio that shows good drawing skills and perhaps some animation tests.

It is just a matter of working hard.
At a small studio you might be able to have a whole understanding of the animation process and all that is involved in it.

    Good luck!
