I loved his work in Aristocats, very nice.
That cat is the first Milt Kahl drawing I did not like. Not a bad record.
I agree actually, that cat seems weak for a Milt Kahl drawing...but he didnt like working on aristocats so maybe he winged it a little bit?
Milt Kahl is one of my favorit animators. His works are simply awesomes.
I have always thought it was odd that they left in those very off-model scenes of Duchess in Kahl's sequence with Madame Bonfamille and her attorney Georges Hautecourt . My guess is the sequence was in production long before anyone else had started working on Duchess and Kahl just drew the cat the way he wanted to , then later on when they had an established model for Duchess there was not enough time/money to redraw Kahl's brief scenes of Duchess , or else he dug his heels in and insisted they not be touched ? (and since no one else at the Studio wanted to die on that particular hill they left the scenes untouched , probably with a shrug reasoning that "the kids won't notice" and "in 30 or 40 years who's going to care anyway ?"
